Biologically Complete Compost

Compost that contains the complete foodweb of microbes. This contains the minimum level of bacteria, protozoa, fungi, and nematodes required by Dr. Elaine Ingham’s criteria.

Ordinary Compost is:

bacterial-dominated

doesn’t contain the complete food web of micro-organisms.

You can’t get something from nothing. We make quality compost using a variety of diverse ingredients with methods to maximize biological diversity.

Because of the large numbers of microbes, Biologically Complete Compost is used as a microbial inoculant, not a fertilizer. When used for this purpose, a high quality compost such as Biologically Complete compost can be used in small quantities.

Bacteria: 135 micrograms/gram compost

Fungi: 135 micrograms/gram of compost

Fungi : Bacteria Ratio (F:B) : Equal to or greater than 0.3:1

Protozoa: 10,000/gram compost

Beneficial Nematodes: 100/gram of compost

Biologically Complete Compost can be applied in solid form or as a liquid extract. Compost Teas are only recommended when microscope assessments are readily available.

Application rates vary depending on the current biology in the soil, but a rough estimate is 1-3 pounds per acre.

That’s a very small amount! The idea is to get the right balances of microbes in just the right numbers to jumpstart the system so the microbes can start multiplying on their own .
