All samples must be accompanied with a Sample Submittal Form. Sample Time slot must be scheduled prior to sample collection.

• With a permanent marker, write the name of the sample, grower’s name, and date of collection on a sealable plastic bag.

• Use a clean soil probe or spade to collect 3” deep sample cores. Be sure to brush away plant duff and organic matter on the soil surface prior to taking the sample cores.

• Collect a representative number of cores from the field being sampled. Be sure to take samples from areas that represent the average field conditions. Avoid taking samples from varying soil types, differing vegetation types or differences in terrain.

• Thoroughly mix the cores in the plastic bag. Being sure not to fill it more than halfway. If you collect more than what will fit in the bag, thoroughly mix your sample in a larger container, and then add enough to fill the bag halfway.

• Seal the bag, but make sure to leave air in the bag.

• Ship your sample the day of collection with 1-2 day shipping. Be sure to include the sample submittal form with the sample.
